This was a very special personal wedding for us, as it was my little brothers big day.
After my brother got engaged to an amazing lady, the pressure was on to find a venue, we looked at all the usual spots but after coming across a post by our photographer I was reminded about Glen Afric, not only is it a beautiful lodge which would give my brother and his fiance a little touch of Africa but it was the location where one of her favorite TV series was filmed, Wild at Heart,, Lauren was over the moon that we could have her wedding there and that the orignal sets were still in place.
While we wanted a touch of Africa in the wedding we didn't want it to be completely African so we settled on more of a country theme
White washed wood, pastel colours with a touch of gold and personalised chalkboards created a beautiful simple wedding we will never forget.
The ceremony took place under a 300 year old olive tree, with zebra, giraffe, wildbeest, ostrich and even donkeys setting the backdrop.
Simple bottels with flowers and wicker hearts hanging in the trees adding a personalised touch to the ceremony
A personalised chalkboard sign greeted guests as they arrived,
Custom fans and confetti cones were there for guests
After the ceremony guests were treated to cocktails served in consol jars and snacks as they watched the animals.
The reception was held in a beautiful open boma
The couples grand entrance was made extra special by the elephants who joined them.
The boma was filled with fairy lights and lanterns hanging in the trees
Bottles with flowers and custom heart bunting lined the bridge
Custom chalkboard hearts made a beautiful seating plan
Different chalkboard signs added personalised touches
Fluffy fleece blankets made the perfect gift for the brisk August evening
Guests left message for the couple on South African post cards
A custom wooden sign, custom bunting and fairly lights made a stunning backdrop for the photo booth.
The wooden ladder with LOVE letters added a beautiful touch
It was so much fun planning this very special wedding!
